Pinnacle Studio 25 Ultimate gives you the creative freedom to set the tone and mood of your production with cinema-quality color effects. It turns out however they had their dvds made before, something (or the plant) was changed and the quality shot downhill very fast.Pinnacle Studio 25 Ultimate gives you the creative freedom to set the tone and mood of your production with cinema-quality color effects. About 2 or so years ago when their blank dvds were first available, they were VERY GOOD, then after a while in newer batches, problems arose and it was enough to warrant a few postings on this site. PS: and in general i would avoid memorex discs like the plague. Just what the homedeck machines are exactly doing when recording that would cause this is still unknown, but it is a common occurance It seemd to mainly occur as i mentioned on the lesser brands and or older dvd decks. I have a few machines, so i was able to test things on more recent models too.

So i would take the disc and reburn it on my pc burner, problem went away. The disc would freeze after a few seconds (on the older apex ad600a and the older pioneer 606d and some other models). Their is a known problem with the way some of the homedeck machines record their dvds and playing them on certain lesser/and or older machines. is blame it to "authoring part" of DVD recorder or DVD player's capabilities to deal with this type of "authoring".
So if you read all this carefuly you can't blame it on media. So far players with problem that I can track are Daewoo 5800 and Apex AD-5131. People that were playing with this issue were using media such as Sony DVD-RW or TDK DVD-R.Ħ.

Anybody who reports same issue is using some form of re-authoring software (DVD workshop, DVD shrink, TMPGEnc DVD Author, dvd2one)ĥ.
I was able to play it on Daewoo 5800 without any problems.Ĥ. I ripped original data and re-authored it on PC and burned on Sony DRU-500A. I used same type of media from same batch to burn re-authored original content. I used same type of media from same batch to burn commercial DVD backup copy on my PC Writer (Sony DRU-500A) and I was able to play it on Daewoo 5800 without any problems.ģ. I made copy of Panasonic's original burned DVD to different media (Sony DVD-RW) and problem was still there. Why is not media problem in my case (and psychotronicf's sounds very close to mine) ?ġ. Thanks in advance for the kind responses. I'll be glad to pick up another brand of blanks and try them out if that's where the problem lies.īy the way, the burned disc plays back in the recorder without any problem, and it said that finalization was completed successfully. Since this is the first DVD-R I've ever burned, I have no idea if my burner is weird, or if Memorex don't jive well with the DMR E-50, or the Daewoo 5800.Īny ideas? Has anyone out there experienced the same thing? This Daewoo unit has successfully played several DVD-Rs in the past by a variety of manufacturers, but in this case, it simply reads NO DISC and won't even bring anything up at all. I bought a 10-pack of Memorex DVD-Rs (even though Memorex tapes are crap, I've been surprised to have great luck with their CD-Rs), and although the disc burned properly at the SP speed, and finalized, it will not playback in my Daewoo 5800 DVD player (which has been hacked to get rid of macro and region problems). I have a brand-new DMR E-50 that I just opened and started to use.
